Celebrate National Singles Week The Spinsterlicious Way!

Did you know the third full week of September (this year, Sept. 16-22) is “National Singles Week”?

I don’t know about the rest of my fellow single moms, but I’d like to hump the leg of the person who decided to start this week long celebration of the single life and recognize single men and single women for their contributions to society.

Recently, the U.S. Census Bureau reported that there are nearly 100 million unmarried people over the age of 18 in the U.S., representing nearly 44% of the adult population. And, non-married single people ages 25 to 34 now out-number the married crowd by nearly 50%!

According to the author of ‘Who’s Your City?’, in the New York/Northern NJ area alone, there are more than 200,000 more single women than single men — and single women currently outnumber single men in New York by 149,219.

It is for that reason, Eleanore Wells wanted to bring attention to National Singles Week and celebrate the occasion with a kickass giveaway!

Want to win a trip to Cancun or one of two other fabulous prizes?

All you have to do is fill out her contest form and tell her how you embrace being single to enter.

FYI: I’m pretty sure somewhere in the fine print it says you have to take me to Cancun with you if you win…

Eleanore Wells is the author of The Spinsterlicious Life: 20 Life Lessons For Living Happily Single & Childfree. Part memoir, part self-help, the book chronicles the life, adventures, joys, and realities of a happily single woman in a “married-is-normal” world. It’s a funny, clever, and insightful laugh-out-loud handbook for anybody who finds themselves proscribed by society for not being coupled-off, either by choice or circumstance.
